i'm looking at buying an alpine CDA-7897 head unit. Currently have a CDA 9807 installed but i want to upgrade. will the CDA-7897 fit in the same space...i.e. is it a standard DIN size unit (i don't know about these fantom faces)

Yup its din sized, just be shure you have a good 4-5" of clearance infront of the cd player for the face to fold out.
