I bought a 1200 watt infinity sub and now i am gonna buy speakers, do you think 2 INFINITY 9613I which are 300 watts each powerful enough to be with a 1200 watt sub?

Sorry if these questions are stupid I am a complete newbie with this.

No question is stupid at all except the ones not asked. First off, you are reading the drastically inflated peak power ratings. Always always always, read the RMS power rating. Next a speaker, any speaker produces what it is given and no more. Meaning you can have a 1200 watt sub, but if you are giving it 100 watts, it for all intentions is being drastically underused. Finally always post the info accurately, meaning the following.

Year, make, model vehicle

What is installed already

Full make and model# of the equipment.

Then we can accurately draw a picture for you that does not look like a drunk stickman. posted_image

I have a 1992 nissan maxima and all the stock stuff is in there. However i am only putting this system in there for a few months becasue once i get my truck running which is a 1950 Ford F-1 i am going to put it in there.

The sub I bought is an Infinity Reference 1242w which has an RMS of 300 watts and i changed my mind to buying 2 POLK DB690 speakers. I was also looking at the Sony(CDX-F5710) for a head unit.

Finally what would be a decent amp to run all of that for about 250-300 bucks?
