I am putting a system in a 2001 jeep cherokee and because i am keeping the factory hu and also using my x-over i am putting in a loc. I dont know how to wire this and don't have the instructions as i got it from my brother who lost them. He doesn't know how to install it either. It is a pac isn8. any help is greatly appreciated.

just wire it onto the speaker wire outputs behind the factory radio....some of those factory radios even tell u the wire colors on the chasis of the radio

Where theres is a wire there's a way.

i did but i saw somewhere that it had to be right at the hu or it wouldn't work. also, is it just positive to positive and neg to neg? are the brown wires extra for a ground if necessary

yes the brown wires r not ness. most of the time.

i always just wire them up behind the radio because it makes it easy to plug in when u swap out the factory radio for an aftermarket..
