I bought a Earthquake BR-1570. I want to make my own box. On the sub it says, VAS=7.9ft. I though VAS should be in litres. Can someone tell me how to convert the ft. into litres or tell what what the recommened Volume cubit feet for my sub.

AND should i build a ported or a sealed box or other....

As far as ported or sealed what kind of sound are you looking for SPL or SQ?

I dont know much about subs-enclosures.

What is SPL and SQ.

SPL = Sound Pressure Level

SQ = Sound Quality

A sealed box will give clear bass response

A ported box will give somewhat clarity with a lower and louder thump than sealed

A Bandbass box will give little to no musical separation but if you want to let people know you have a system this is the way to go, it has a huge thump

Pers pref. go with a ported box.
