Is it a pre fab box or a custom box. That setup should be really loud.

Oh come on what happened to the 2 13w6's????

Sheesh.

Hmm.. I mean I've never done this, but I had one guy... real good at this stuff... better than me... tell me he did a pair 12w3's ported... big slot port box mind you... but it was louder than 3 sealed off the same amp.... some huge Eclipse or Orion or sumthin.. I'm not sure...

Now.. I'm thinking if you actually get around to modeling this, you'll find 3x12w3's actually not only sounds ... well.

Hold on I'm gonna model this hold on.

Huh. Okay I get about 122dB-anachoetic either way.. ported or vented.

I dunno I'm sleepy.

Without anything other than my opinion on this, I doubt you will be able to hit 150db with that setup. I could be wrong, so don't quote me on that. posted_image

In a sealed box, No way.     In a ported box it is going to be hard

But that is going off measurments for the termlab, this meter is what is used in all Organazations, or the audiocontrol 190 meter, but thats even harder then the termlab

As much as I love JL, they are not a product to use if you are trying to do good #'s on a meter

The best JL setup I have seen to date

(2) 13W7's
(2) 1000/1's
Ported box

And that did a 147 on the termlab

The W3V2 isn't the king of SPL or efficency. After modeling several different drivers I found the RE XXX had the best combo of output vs. box size. The Treo SSX also looked really good but efficiency was low. I'm running a single 12W3V2 in a sealed box with a zapco C2K-6.0 bridged into it. Sounds ok,nothing wow.

Also looking at Crystal drivers as an option.

JL doesn't make SPL subs, so don't count on it.

but my 13w1v2 does get pretty loud for what it is..

A lot of people seem to miss this point quite often. They aren't the best for SPL, and aren't the best for SQ, but they damn sure are close to the top in doing both well at the same time, just not either/or. posted_image

well whats gonna be louder then 2 13w6v2's or 3 12w3v2's? both of them in a ported box with the right amount of air for each sub runnin off 1000/1 amp.

My friend had three 12w3v2s in a spec-built sealed box in his durango powered off of, if I remember correctly, a fosgate 801s.  My brother has 2 12w3v2s in the jl H.O. powerwedge (the slot ported one, really nice sounding box actually) and I can tell you that the 2 in that ported box were substantially louder, oh and they were powered off of an even smaller 401s.  I actually just bought the 3 12w3s off of my friend along with another new from a different friend, working on getting them all to fit nicely into my new car.  I can tell you on the test runs wtih the three in that box and the fourth in just an old box that is like .5 cu ft. I could see the possibly getting decently into the 150s.  If ported very very well you might be able to get a very high 140 with just the three of them, possibly a 150 but I would be sorta surprised, I can tell you whatever the score if you are just looking for something that will hit "insanely loud" as you stated I can tell you you wont be dissapointed.  My money would be on the w3s over the w6s (never been much of a w6 fan, and I think my new setup probably speaks of my feelings toward the w3), either way I would recommend porting, probably to the jl specs and I think you will have plenty of bass and be impressed with the sq you are getting out of such a loud ported box.
