I've had my set up for about 2 years and the other day it just died in the middle of playing. I got 2 kicker amps running of a 1 farad cap.
I'm thinking maybe the cap died because when I check the fuse between battery and cap its not blown, however usually when you disconnect and reconnect there are little sparks as if it is making up for the loss electrical charge..Can somebody help me. thank you.

If you hooked the cap up correctly It would not matter if the cap worked or not(as long as it's not shorted out.) Are you sure the fuse is good. I've seen fuses that look fine, but still didn't work. Did you check for power with a meter? I think you got bigger problems than the cap. I had 2 cap blow up on me. My voltage regulator stopped working and my alt shot 20vdc to the caps and BOOM sounded like a bomb went off. Inside my Bronco, talk about crapin yourself. blew oil and paper all over the place.

Big Dave
1) Remove the capacitor completely from your system.
2) Does it work now? If so, then either something was wrong with the cap (leave it out) or with your hookups. If not, then it's something in the power system or the amp(s). Be sure you check all fuses with a meter, and look for connections that have come loose.
