hi, i found a really nice JL midrange with a hole in the front of the speaker, how much is that going to effect the sound?

The speaker will only play in french now.

No, it's now a ported speaker with better output

All in all it will probably sound fine, up close and i mean up close you may hear a wooshing sound, but most likely not in your seated position.
