probably like junk, pick one set of subs and stay with them.   I have not succesfully seeen anyone do a setup with 2 diffrent brand and types of subs and have it sound anywhere close to good.

Let alone the amount of power you will need.   The kickers will take a true 1500RMS, the Audiobahns would probably melt at 800RMS
Either way your looking at 2500-3000WRMS, how do you intend to come up with thsi sort of power?

Then how do you plan to upgrade your electrical system to provide the current a system like this would draw?

Jeff, I think (could be wrong) that the a8000t is an Audiobahn amp, and he probably meant it puts out 800 rms.

If it was me, I would definitely find one [or two] better amps. I wouldn't stick a couple Audiobahn amps on some nice Kickers.

I'd look for one nice class d amp that'll put out a true 1,500 rms to those babies.

a agree with jeff, stick to one brand, have all your subs the same. it's also less complicated, and if no other reason, kickers are alot more reliable then the audiobombs...err audiobahn lol,  i have seen a a system that they used 2 different type of subs that worked, they have 2 RF T2 12" subs in the back of the car and 3 RF punch series 2  10" subs in the trunk, they were run off there own complete seperate systems, he used it for SQ and SPL and switch between the two for what ever event he's at.

Well audiobarn isnt worth the money plus it wont properly power the L7's.  Kicker is good gear

my bad, I normally dont keep up to date with the audiobahn model #'s

I would recommend not getting the 2 audiobahn amps and getting a single kicker 1200.1    It would put out the power it says it will and should be in the same price range $300-$400

That Audioburn amplifier is going to struggle to produce 400w rms at 4 ohms mono. It is not even a remotely close to good match to one Kicker L7 sub.

Not to mention the kickers are turds! Get the Eclipse TI 12's. WAY better sound quality, and probably close to the same price, AND will go in a way smaller box... three plusses, no minuses. That all adds up to better value.

It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

I'm gettin a pro 2 build me a box. i formulated the number and i'm gettin the box made to 1.75 cu ea chamber? do u think that is good? maybe later i would like to change from sealed to ported since its still recomended by kicker. right now i need bass but i think in the summertime i will switch 2 ported because of the spl.

first off, you said he was a pro, so wouldnt he do the calculations himself? If he is a pro, shouldnt he build what you want (ported)....?

Go with ported ! if u live around memphis let me know i'll hook u up. i have built a ton of boxes for kickers u only want to go ported. The 2.5 cu ft ported box will beat up your ears. I did a cut out cab on my friends s-10 with L7s and it is crazy loud in that little cab.

If you want to get simply more bass from your L7 you have to design a ported box following the woofer specs! I am sure that you will get more low and strong bass. And sure more db!!!!!!!    So go on!!!

If it's a new 12L7, this is a link to the manual for it. Scroll down to Vented Enclosure Information. That's the kind of box I would build.

I had 1 15' L7 in my cavalier. It sounded really good. I called Kicker and they gave me the specs for the box.

It was 5 cu.ft with a slotted port. If you want go with the sealed box it will provide you with more of a kick or shaking. The port give you less kick but gets extremley loud. It is good for SPL comps.

I recommend a big enclosure for these subs. If you have the room and want to compete.

The L7's are great subs Either way sealed or ported you can't go wrong.

i'm goin to run 2 S12L7 in my 2001 Altima and a kicker kx1200.1 amp. This local stereo shop say i need another battery because this amp is power hungary. But i think my car really needs another alternator OR just 1 good battery, what do you think? since i'm only using a 0/1 gauge amp wiring kit, would you think i need a 2nd battery

you do not need a second battery. 1 good battery and an alternater rated at least 180 amp. and you will be good to go.

I bought this 2 L7's and a kx1200.1 amp from ebay and all i need was a box and sum wires. I went to this local stereo shop 2 get a box built. i paid $175 for a box and they said they carried 0/1 gauge wire. so i paid $100 on the box and waited on the wires.a week and a half lata, the box is NOT completed until 2day, when i saw this box it looked like crap, the glue was all messy, they built it with 1 chamber and it was small, and they drilled a hole for the wires with NO terminal, i was like WTF!!!!!! so i told the people that the box is ugly and i wanted 2 chambers with 1.75 cu ft inside and fix the terminals, they are but i still think that the box is small and wasn't nearly 1.75 so i'm going to check the box #'s and make sure but for the inconvienance they knocked off $40. I was highly pissed off that i waited at that store for 3 HOURS and wasted $100 on that cheap azz box, i would done better by shopping on ebay!!! Will you be mad?

At only $100 for a 2 sub box, no wonder.  Time to find another shop, or learn to build your own box.
