Well I have 2 Alpine SWR-1042D 10" subwoofer with dual 4-ohm voice coils. My girlfried got me a Rockford Fosgate Power T8002 Amp. I was talking to a guy at best buy and he said to wire the subs in series and wire the amp in parrell. I was wondering if that would be the best way to wire it up and if not how should I wire it up?

Well here are your two wiring options for your subs, I personally would go with the 4 ohm setup.

If i went with the 4 Ohms setup then the amp would only be putting out 125W x 2 RMS. Or are you talking about the 500 W x 1 @ 4 Ohms Bridged RMS. If so how would i wire it so it is bridged.

I am in the same situation with my amp and sub setup. If you scroll down in the car audio install bay forum you will see mine. That diagram is series-parallel with the 4 ohm load requiring you to bridge your 2-channel amp if you want to get the most power.

Yes, you can bridge that amp for 500 watts @ 4 ohms, it should show you how to bridge it in the manual, but generally you would use the positive from one channel and the negative from the other channel.

So the Rockford Fosgate Power T8002 Amp will work if i bridge it at 4 Ohms. And is i did that it says 500Watts X 1 but once it is a 2 channel i would just wire each channel so it is at 4 ohms bridged correct?

Well if I am not mistaken, you must present a single 4 ohm load to the amp, so the use the left + and the right -
