I have a 3 amp system. I have an Alpine V12 DC Straight, an Autotek SX275 and an Orion 600D. The Orion 600D cuts in and out at times. Im trying to see if I need a capacitor on it or does anybody have any other suggestions. The highs continue to play when the Orion is cutting out. I also have an active crossover hooked up. I have 2 dual 4ohm woofers hooked up presenting a 1ohm load. The amp is a mono stable down to 1ohm. Do you all this equipment is causing a strain on the electrical system. The highs amps never cut out. Just the bass amp.

If the amp is shutting down due to low voltage, you will need a high-output alternator (and additional batteries if you play the system with the engine off.)  Test the voltage at the amp when it shuts down and see what you're getting.  If it is shutting down on protection, either it is not really 1-ohm stable (just because the ratings say so does not necessarily mean every amplifier is) or the gain and/or bass boost is too high.  If it's not going into protection and the voltage is above 11.5 volts, you have a problem in your wiring or a defective amp.

That amp should play all day at 1 ohm. Like DYohn said, check the gain and boost and make sure they are not set too high. Before you buy the HO alternator do the big 3 upgrade on your car. Forget a cap.
