Someone had mentioned in another thread a deck that can generate pink noise. What exactly can you do with pink and white noise? Are they used for tuning?

White noise is not that useful for system setup, but pink noise is used (along with an RTA, another Google for you) to properly adjust an equalizer to attain a near-flat system frequency response.

Cool stuff! I only saw one Real Time Analyzer on ebay and it was $700.

Are there cheaper models? Also, do most car audio shops have an RTA?

There are actually programs you can download onto your computer to use, but the mic you use is key.  Here: https://www.trueaudio.com/rta_faq1.htm.  This will give you an idea.  You'll just have to ask if the local shops have an rta, because not everyone does.
