The switch for the remote will be fine. But what do you mean by your going to wire the audio cables to a bass volume control and then to the amp. Do you mean you have a bass volume control that came with your amp that you’re going to connect it using the cable the amp came with?

I bought the volume control seperately, i assume it has to be wired to the sub output from the h/u then to the amp that powers my sub.

All the ones I have seen are designed to be used with a specific amp and the amp has a plug to plug it in. do you have a pic of yours or a link to the net?

No unfortunately i dont. When i wire a switch to the remote wire does that mean the amp will not be on when the switch is turned off even though there will still be output from my h/u to the sub

Correct when the switch is in the off position the amp will have no power and hence no sound. As far as you bass control don’t know what kind your talking about to answer your question. If you can find a pic or a link I will try and help you out.

there are plenty of bass controls that are generic .... its really not a bass control but rather a level control wich the rca's run through and it adjust the input level to the amplifier

Alright I understand what kind of bass control you have now. And yes it’s safe to use both the switch and the bass control.
