i have a 1985 fiero and i want to add a sub but i dont know where to put it i dont want to cut the floor or the metal in front of the seating area any suggestions? n

Hi Nash, you're extremely limited on space, however if you do not want to make any modifications there is somewhat of an alternative. We used to carry a product by Aura call Bass Shakers. While these won't provide any SPL, you will feel the bass. These can easily be mounted under the seats or to the rear firewall in your vehicle. Yes, they surprisingly work well. I used two pair of them along with a 10" woofer in this Dodge Ram: https://www.the12volt.com/installs/ram2.jpg They made a pretty big difference while in the truck, but once you were no longer touching the truck, the sensation of bass disappeared. You could definitely feel them. the12volt

i think alpine used to make them - called bass engines i think do you know if alpine makes them for aura or did aura make them for alpine? thank you for your info n

I had 1984 Fiero a few years back, I mounted a 6 1/2 SAS Bazooka tube on the ledge in front of the back window behind the headrests of the set. Tinted the back window as dark as I could to hide the fact. The sound was awesome and I have trophys to prove it.

I traded my 1984 fiero off on a 2000 z24 about a month ago. I had installed two audiobahn aw1200 subs (700 w rms each) in a dual chambered sealed box behind the passenger seat. i didn`t have to cut the first layer of sheetmetal(gain of about 3 inches) or even remove the carpet. I moved the seat all the way forward and adjusted the angle of tilt to still be comfortable enough for my girlfriend on long trips. ( i had no trouble sitting in it comfortably and i am 6'0)
The box i built was a little over 1 cubic foot per sub without sub displacement included and i added polyfill to effectively create a 1 cubic foot box WITH sub displacement included. my amp was an audiobahn HCX1300(1200 w rms x1 @ 1 ohm) which i mounted behind the drivers seat along with a 1 farad cap. There is an even more extreme system than mine at : www.efog.fierocanada.com/, under members pages , darnell`s custom stereo.
2 12`s behind the seats and 2 10`s on the ledge behind the headrests. doing a search on any of the big search engines for "fiero sound" will net quite a few interesting installs
