well unless the amps can be linked together i dont think that sounds like a very good idea, exspecially with a sub like a w7 whitch has a 1.5 ohm coil you would be better off just paying for a good amp. obviously you can aford it otherwise you wouldnt have bought the w7

big agree there. are those the circut city 1000 watt amp specials for 50 bucks buy one get one half off, or are they REAL CEA 1000watt amps. if so use one. if there junk dont plug them to a w7.

Refer to your owner's manual, Appendix C, page 16-17.  The procedure to connect multiple amps together in a "master/slave" configuration is explained.  Or go see your local JL Audio dealer.

you need to get a cable from jl in order to link the 2 amps together like dyohn said so you can have a master and a slave, i would say forget that and just go get another w7 you will be a lot happier with 2 w7s both running off a 1000 rms than 1 w7 runnning off 2000 rms

Actually, either approach should result in the same net +3db SPL increase, but I agree with you it is never good to push a speaker to its limits.

hooking 2 1000/1 amps up to a w7 is nowhere near pushing its limmits,  if you wanna push one of those things to its limmits hook up 4 1000/1's to a 13 w7 and see what happends, they can take a lot more power than you think they can.
