After hrs of searching for a high powered mono block amp. I stumbled onto this little peice of equipment. I don't have any experiences first hand on SoundStream Products, and mostly their amps. Main point is I dont' want to buy something that I would Soon regret because of the qualitIy. I hear rumors of how good they are/how bad they are. It would be nice for to get some feedback from the people who have used any soundstream products or this specific model. Any Opionions would be nice good or bad. My Set up was orginally going to be this amp with some GoundZero Subs (Yea im going for SPL)

Thx 12Volt Members

-Jeff

Doesn't the price seem strange for this type of amp? It almost feels as if im buying Legacy brand amps.

Is it supposed to look cracked and beat up like they ran it over with a truck???

That display picture doesn't help that amp sell at all. I'm sure they have others that aren't scratched. . . or "ran over by a truck"

Sooo.... Have you seen the VanGough AMP???? It has a face coming through the top.

What an amp looks like has nothing to do with the quality.

Yes some of the boards of the Soundstream amps are the identical boards to amplifiers that cost 1/4 as much under a different name. Soundstream amps of old used to be hand built and used hand picked parts within super tight tolerances, this is far from the case today. What the new Soundstream is hinging on is the gullibility of the consumer who does not know any better and will pay for the name that was created by doing things the right way. IMO, Soundstream can stay right where it is, not in my store, nor my paying customers cars. Any time I have looked at the product, the build quaility (or lack thereof) has been bam, hit in the face evident. No thank you, pass, What's behind door # 2 please, I'll go with the second showcase please Bob.

I agree with Rob.  The shop I used to work at ran into 2 bad Soundstream amps in a row.  That was the first and last time I'll ever install them again.

I also have a local soundstream dealer. Not quite sure if I want to try something new. From more countless hrs of searching, I narrowed it down between two of these amps or a single Hifonics Goliath model. Not sure if I wanna go for "My bang for a buck"

Sorry for the Double Post, but I would like to know if the SoundStream amp is even 1 OHM Stable.  Im sure the amp does 1 Ohm, but it would be nice to know weither or not the amplifier will fry on me once its hitting its Peak Load. I called the Soundsteam main number, but since of my area of where I live, i haven't been able to contact them either.

So 90% of the users that responded to this thread would agree This is an "ay-okay" amp?

So the question is now, which sub-woofer should I choose with this baby? Remember, i'm going for SPL not SQ
