I have a guy that wants xm hooked up to his Alpine.To complete the installation of an XM Direct system, the XMD1000 XM Direct Universal Tuner box must be added on to this XM Direct Smart Digital Adapter. What is the purpose to buying both unit they just don't have an all in one unit like the Sirus.

XM had Terk only build one tuner. The adaptors allow it to be used in with Alpine as well as Sony ,Kenwood and Pioneer.
