Alpine Type-X, what size amp to use?

I currently have a Type-R 10" and am thinking about upgrading to the Type-X 12" i currently have the MRD-M605 mono amp. Our would i have to upgrade my amp to the MRD-M1005?
Thanks for any info/opions you can give me.

Ok, it looks to me that you are a big time alpine guy... but definatly go to a local shop with a type X and give it a listen before you decide your definatly getting one. might not be as good as expected. wasnt for me when i gave it a listen at tweeter.
