i installed a pioneer cd headunit into my 2001 galant and i noticed a thump in my speakers. i hear it when 1 of three things take place:  power off, when the volume is lowered and it reaches zero, and when i change the radio function between cd and stereo.  any idea what's going on?  i've changed the ground 2x and i still get the thump.  i thought it was my amp, but i heard it even before an amp was installed.  anyone know what's up with this?

i hooked up an amp and a box, but the thump was heard before i hooked up an amp to subs in my trunk.  i heard it when i changed the head unit.  all the other hook ups were still the factory installs.
