I've installed my alarm with remote starter. No problems. I am down to one last wire to finish the installation. I need a 12 VOLT (+) from the Tachometer or the Oil Pressure Sensor. I believe the tach is a white wire on the PCM. Does anybody have any tips to installing this wire & finding it? (FIRST INSTALLATION) On another note, I've read many articles on having your ignition wires in proper oder. My alarm has (x2) wires (same color), but I followed the wiring diagram for IGN 1 & IGN2 and connected them in the order they were listed. Is there anyway to test and confirm the order of ignition? One last thing....I'm sorry I'm new to this. My alarm says that the starter disable is optional. I would like to hook it up. Its a relay that connects two wires (in the example the distributer + is split) and the relay wire goe to the alarm. But what do I do without the distributer, since I have individual spark. . . or DIS . . .sorry my lingo is bad, but you prob know what I'm saying. Thank-you, Robert

1. If the wire that you have coming off the CPU is asking for a (+) input for oil pressure, chances are it's asking for the alternator wire which is normall found at the alternator. Single wire that tests 0 voltage when car is off and between 1-6 volts when vehicle ignition is turned on & 9-14 volts when started. Set DMM to DC
2. Characteristics of the 1st & 2nd IGN wires are the same under starting conditions. Just make sure that both are powered during remote start and you should be fine. Coming off the RS unit, there should be no difference.
3. The wire that you should cut in half is your starter wire. When you cut it in half, one will be the motor side and the other will be the key side. Wire in appropriately .

For anybody else reading this I have a 2003 GMC sierra 4x4 ext cab. Thanks Jeff. You say the alternator wire is the way to go. It makes sense. I looked at other postings on this site and concluded that there is a tach wire at the pcm. But when you said you could use the alternator wire, I'll try that and leave a response to my results. The ignition wires, on some postings I've read warnings about not have the order right. ??? When you say starter wire, you mean the starter wire from the ignition right? Thanks.

Some remote starts can use either a voltage sense (alternator wire) or a tach sense wire. You can use either as long as you program it accordingly, which will be covered in your manual when you get to that step. Some vehicles do have a proper sequence when powering up the ignition circuits. If you hook them up wrong, the common symptom will be that the vehicle will remote start fine with the key, but not without. Yes, the starter wire at the ignition switch. ------------- My ex once told me I have a perfect face for radio.

Okay, so now I hooked the wire to the alternator wire that becomes live when the engine is running. The remote start works fine (somewhat). Now the engine starts, then shuts back off after 3-4 seconds, and then tries to restart again. If during this time I turn the key to the "On" Position, the engine still starts and shutsdown. If during this time, I crank the motor, it stays running, and then I can even take the key out, and it will stay running. Now I am confused. Can anybody help? Thanks Robert

The remote start more than likely comes already in tach mode. Read through your owner's manual to switch to voltage sensing mode, or use the tach wire and follow the procedure set forth so the remote start brain can "learn" the tach signal.

What are the reults of Passlock 2??? First off, I found out that I have keysense. Its a (-) wire. Now when fooling around, I ended up killing my battery. After jumping to get going I had problems for about 10 min during the charge up period, I had a picture of Lock appear on my dash and my truck wouldn't start. But by about 10 mins, finally the truck started, and no lock symbol. And I'm still having no luck with the remote start. My manual does not have any information about switching from volt sensing mode to tach, all it states is to connect "Oil Sensor (or tach input, or oil lamp in the dashboard) signal, positive input, when engine is started successful, a +12v appears on this wire" and give you a footnote of "If you use this wire for tach input, you must coil this wire 3-5 loops onto the high-voltage from the engine distributor." As everyone probaly read earlier, I have a 2003 GMC Sierra 4.8 L and no distributor. I am still lost. My alarm works great, and my keyless entry works fine, but as stated in my last message, that when I use my remote start, it starts then dies, and tries again automatically. I tried grounding the keysense with a jumper to ground. My results did not change. HELP ME . . . S O S Robert!

Passlock is not an issue if the vehicle starts. You have to power both ignition wires (the pink and white wires at the ignition harness) to keep from getting a check engine light. Try posting this problem along with the make/model of the alarm/remote start in the car security and convenience forum and/or contact the manufacturer for tech support. ------------- My ex once told me I have a perfect face for radio.

i don't know if my last reply will be posted or not so i'm trying again. if you didn't hook up a bypass for the passlock you need to do so. you can find them at your local "best buy" type of store. they used to retail for around $50. if you run into a higher price let me know and i can sell you one from my stock. if you already hooked up a bypass you should try re-learning the key's "frequency". hope i helped a little bit. if not.....thanks for reading what i wrote.

The Alarm System is made by "Korea Tech" and the model is "Thor" and provides no contact information. You can view this item on ebay @ https://cgi.ebay.ca/THOR-2-WAY-LCD-CAR-ALARM-SYSTEM-w-2-TRSMTRS_W0QQitemZ5861384782QQcategoryZ94832QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Its a 2-way alarm with remote start, and thats all I know. Anyways still haven't resolved my starting issue. Any ideas about keysense? Should I just use a relay to bypass it? I don't think I have passlock. I went to GM and they said that I don't, and "geepherder" said that I don't in his last posting....anybody else have any ideas to why a truck would start and shutdown, and try to restart, but only when I use the remote start??? If during the time I start my truck manually with the key, I can take the key out and the truck will stay running??? So essentially, all I need is to get the truck started by remote. HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!! Thank-you everybody who has been following my posts. Robert.

I have found some more information on my alarm. https://www.keyu-thor.com/en/products.asp?productSort=246 Name: Two Way Car Alarm Model No: C409 sales@keyu-thor.com I've wrote to them, but I don't really know if I'll get a response, as even their website doesn't provide technical support. I wrote to the sales team.
