can anyone help me with removing the factory stereo from a 1999 vw passat 1.8T please...... Also how to replace the blown speakers.

it probablly needs keys...if the stereo has 2 slots on each side (1/2 in. high) then you need vw keys...and if you have the monsoon system, you gotta bypass the stock amp.

Yup, you need keys. If you have some Kenwood Excelon keys laying around, you can ground them down and use them. You don't have to bypass the amp in the Monsoon system unless your adding a seperate amp. The amp senses audio input and powers on- no remote turn on IIRC. It can accept a speaker level input from an aftermarket stereo, too.
