i have an alpine 3546 amp currently running 2 alpine typ-e 10'' subs. i cant seem to find any specs on this amp and i was wondering if i could add another 2 10'' subs to it. Right now the subs are wired together for 2ohm load and the amp is bridged. if i wire 2 subs each for 2 ohm and wire them up seperatly (ie 2 subs on left ch, 2 subs on right ch)willl this amp handle this kind of wiring set up?

if that amp is handling 2 ohms bridged right now. witch doesn't seem right. but if true, then the amp in stereo could handle 1 ohm each channel.
so 2 ohm stereo is fine but i wouldn't go any lower than 2 ohms and would keep it well ventalated and cool.

JUST ONE MORE AMP!!!

That is a old amp if that is the full model #, not made in Japan IIRC. Does it have a blue stripe across it with white writing by chance? Black heatsink? If so, it is a 2 channel that was not designed to operate at 2 ohm mono. It will however handle 2 ohm stereo, so 2 pairs of svc 4 ohm subs wired in parallel will be good to go.

Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.
yeah its black with a blue stripe across it and white writing. it does kick into protection now and again if i drive it too hard, but thats not very often b/c the 2 subs i have sound very good with the volume at about 15 on my h/u
but does anyone have a link of any other information on this amp, i cant seem to find any info on it . what i would really like to get is trhe owners manual for this relic. but this amp has been a great workhorse for me and it seems to be working fine :)
