Hi All
Anyone have experience of Sony Head units?

I have a Sony CDX-GT200 Head unit and a Sony XPlod Amp in the rear, powering a Kenwood Sub.

The unit advertises a rear amp/Sub selectable output from the unit.

At the moment I have it set to "Rear Amp", the problem with this is that when I adjust the equalizer in the head, I.E. turn the Bass down so it doesn’t blow my Door speaker (which I think I did last night, 5h1t!!)
The bass to the Sub also is attenuated.

Will setting the Rear/Sub select to “Sub” bypass the equalizer, or will it turn the output into a powered out put which may damage my Amp? The manual is vague on this matter!

Here is a link top the manufactures data sheet: https://www.sony.co.uk/view/ShowProduct.action?product=CDX-GT200&site=odw_en_GB&pageType=TechnicalSpecs&category=ICA+CD+Tuners

Yes, turning the bass down will also affect the sub output as well.  You can use bass blockers for the door speakers, or use an amp to power them, and set the built-in crossover to high pass.
