hifonics makes some good amps, it really isnt a full 2000 rms like it says it is, you will probley get about 1400-1700 rms out of it but dont pay 500 for it, look on ebay those amps are selling for 299.99 + shipping

For what they cost, Hifonics amps are very good, IMO. They don't put out the rms power that they claim, but they are not far off with their ratings. If you buy an amp that is 1000 watts rms and DOES 1000 watts rms, you will pay far more for it. Their amp that they rate at 1400 watts rms does around 1000 for around $200.

If you get the 12's, 4 ohm DVC, wire them in parallel so the amp will run at 1 ohm mono, that amp will give you around 1600 watts rms. You shouldn't have any problems with it. I've been running mine at 1 ohm mono for months and it doesn't even get warm.

I recently purchased the Brutus 2005D for $300, Running 2 CD 120C's I ran it for over a couple hours it did not skip a beat, and it was still cold to touch.

Ran parallel at 1 ohm.

Oh yeah...I fried a MRV 1507 and a PPI 2200 with these subs

the brutus 2000 rms amp is a digital amp right?

does that mean i wont need to get a new battery or alternator?

also will 4gauge work or will i need to run zer0

The type of amp you use does not determine whether you need to upgrade your charging system- the amount of current it pulls does.  With that kind of power, I'd get the highest output alternator I could afford, and do the big 3 upgrade (use the search function at the top right corner).

If the amp truly is 2000 watts RMS, I'd go with at least 2 gauge.  To the left of the screen, you can click Power and Ground, which will bring up this: https://www.the12volt.com/info/recwirsz.asp.

yeah i realize that but a guy down here at an audiodesigns told me that a digital amp would make it so i wouldnt have to upgrade.

he said this one was sposed to be digital, ive been told its really only about 1700 rms
