I have a VRX 8271, but have lost the install manual. I took the deck about 4-5 years ago and am thinking of installin it again.

Does anyone have the wiring diagram/color codes for this unit?

Thank you for the link, I just have a feeling there is something different with this deck because it has the motorized monitor?...I'll double check my harness though...it may come back to me as I go to install it.

The motorized monitor does not make a difference as long as it's not much more than 10 years old or so- or a pre-99 Pioneer. Usually the only wire color that's different from brand to brand is the mute wire, but other than that, the colors should match. Many Clarion units have two yellow wires, you just simply connect them together.

OK...I found some mystery wires. Everything in the harness is as it should be. But on the back of the deck there is...

White w/ red stripe (single wire no mate)

Orange

Orange w/ white stripe - (maybe these are illum power, and illum ground?)

WHITE/ red may be a phone mute- different brands use different colors as there is no standard for this wire. Orange and ORANGE / white are illumination/dimmer as you asked. These wires are not required for install, but if it's there in both harnesses, you can hook it up if you want.

the orange is for parking brake.

the ORANGE / white is for illumination

the WHITE/ red is for rear vision camera control

there are 2 ground leads

the yellow rca is for rear vision camera.
