Yes, I use them.  Some of the best amps in the world.  Prices can be quite high if compared to other car audio gear..  Which amp are you considering?

There are only a few companies that I have absolutely no problems recommending under any circumstances.  McIntosh is one of those.  You cannot go wrong with any McIntosh amp, period.  If you can afford them, they will give you the best sound quality available in the car audio marketplace.  The MCC602TM is their top of the line stereo car audio amplifier.  It is not complex to set up.  There is probably nothing available that performs better in terms of pure sonic quality.  Are you serious about being interested in this amp or are you just curious?  I recommend you go audition one at a McIntosh dealer in your area. They sell for right around $3000US, by the way.

I will second what DYohn has said, they are certainly the creme of the crop, although a little big in comapaison to other high end amps. I wouldn't hesitate to put any product from Mcintosh in my car.

Sure.  Buy me one of everything available, and we'll set up a comparison test-o-rama and find out!  I'll bring the test gear and the beer.

I'll make my killer chili that won an award at the California Mid- State Fair. If you guys want we can hold it at my shop, centrally located for your convenience. We can even use my store demo car as a test bed. Oh the snootiness of it all!

Perfect!  All we need now is for dwarren to step up with the $250K or so it'll take to purchase the test amps, and away we go.  We could even have a drawing to give away the amps as door prizes... must be present to win... except for the12volt, who wins one by default.  posted_image

OH and by the way, I checked with my local dealer and the McIntosh MCC604TM (the "T" model is no longer available.  "TM" means it includes the power meters) is selling for $3750 and it has a 90-day wait for delivery for pre-paid orders.  The home audio version, the MC-602, sells for $8995, but he has one in his shop that he'll sell at a 20% discount as a demo. Interestingly, the only difference between Mc's home and auto lines is the form factor and the power supply.  Same amplifier topology.

Didn't know about the last one. Definately wouldn't have "flaked". Got the pool, the oak pit BBQ ( for Haem's babybacks) and plenty of room for everybody. Templeton should be about 2-3 hours for everyone. Let's set it up for the summer and I'll kick the old lady out for the weekend!

You deserve an award for this comment, however I can only give you kudos at this time until we can share a bottle of Herradura or Milagro Añejo. BTW, José Cuervo (even 1800, Traditional's ok when you're a fix) gives tequila a bad name and should be banned IMO.

Sounds good to me ;)

Mardi Gras is just a few weeks away and although it won't be as big as usual this year, it's sure to be as much fun as ever, so I think the central get-together should be down here in New Orleans from February 25th through the 28th.  ....RSVP ;)

Cabo Wabo! Sammy Hager is da man! 12 volt, I don't think you can beat Caly's central coast in the summertime. Let's all charge our customers an extra dollar per install and buy Volt an airline ticket!

Sadly, Sammy don't own it no mo', and it has gone downhill. It only owes its name to him. Rio de Plata, Penca Azul, Patron Silver... THOSE are good tequilas! Sammy still rox, but 'is poison don't.

10-4 that... rotgut! mmmm... Herradura... Milagro... mmmmm SOME tequila manufacturers realize that we Americans aren't ALL gullible enough to think that Cuervo is good tequila... The Budweiser of tequilas, AFAIAC...
I'll take those kudos. Don't get enough of them, so I never turn one down...
