Hello, I'm trying to install an alpine cda9855 in a impreza wrx sti 2005. The problem is that I am not able to set the radio to receive it correctly. The catch of antenna of the vehicle is standard and well connected. The standard radio (manufacturer original) is able to take an impressionant number of radio stations. I would like to know, initially, where is the antenna (no apparent antenna)? Secondly, I like to know how I can have a better reception of the radio without having to change the antenna? If somebody had already have this problem or can help me , thank you a lot. Bye

i did a 05 sti, to get the deck out just get a small flat screwdriver and pry the trim panels off, nothing spectacular.   As for the ant issue, i forget what i did, but it worked out great.

The WRX has a diversity antenna located in the rear windscreen and needs to have 12v supplied to it via the head unit remote wire. Some head units have both a amp remote and ant remote wire so check to make sure correct wire is used. The easiest way to find the ant remote power wire is reconnect the original h/unit, turn it on and test the wiring for power. There should be three wires that have power. Constant power, Acc power and the ant remote wire. Leave the Acc on and turn off the h/unit. The wire that loses power is the ant remote wire posted_image

Hope this helps.
