I want to install my sony cd player in my 06' chevy Express 3500 van. I was told I need a 120 dollar wiring harness. I was told that some GM vehicles dash lights and warning chimes will quit working after installing aftermarket stereo. Is this true and how do you know which GM will be affected.

It is true. Most GM radios since 2000 are like this. For the trucks and vans it came about in 2003.

yea its true but if u use the $120 harness it keeps all that stuff working thats why it cost so much also make sure u pick up a kit and antenna adapter
