i just got thru doing one of these yukon denali 98 with a Bose amp bypass. i thought i would give a little advice one these for anyone doing one of these "delights". first of all, this vehicle had the amp in the center console rather than behind the glove box. you can't get to the amp itself but the plugs are sticking out of the amp. i only wired this vehicle for front door and rear door speakers (all of these speakers were blown btw). since all speakers except the 4 X 10 rear hatch were blown i replaced them first and then started popping the speakers from the amp location. the front speakers are regular colors but the rears are brown and red and brown and white. the drivers side rear is on the smaller plug. after i found all 4 speakers i wanted i ran my own wiring from the amp location to the dash and hooked right up to the after market radio. if you get lucky and the amp isn't bad then you can power up the pink wire behind the radio and you are done but i wasn't so lucky. good luck with these if you do one.

ya those cars are a pain if you ever have a customer try and integrate them using a xr4 or similar hi-lo device just say no!!! bypass it i had to different occassions on 2 denalis trying to integrate but after i hooked everything up the sound was very distorted and there was hardly any volume, even try high level in and rca level in. you can manage to get the amp out of the console but it is very hard, pretty much requires removing the whole center console i managed to get it out some how with taking it completely out.(make sure you where gloves very very sharp metal down there.good thing about removing the amp is if your doing a big job you can fit all kinds of goodies down threr like ipod adapters and av switchers.
Metra makes an amp bypass cable for these vehicles which will simplify the job......
