I currently have 2 Diamond Audio D910D4 subs that I intend to wire for a 1 ohm load. The specs on these subs are 600w nominal/1200w max. I've been looking at two different amps Diamond Audio D61000.1 (1000w) or the Diamond Audio D61500.1 (1500w). I don't want the subs to underpowered (a mistake that I've made in the past) but I don't want to blow them either as they were pretty expensive. So which amp will get the job done?? TIA

I would use the larger amp as you can turn it down to make the most of the woofers, if you use the smaller amp you might find it needs to be flat out to give a similar result. The bigger amp will have more reserve capacity to give the max output of the woofers.

The 1000 watt amp should be plenty. You don't have to feed a subwoofer it's RMS rating to get good results, but with the 1500 watt amp, you run the risk of overpowering/blowing your subs. While it is possible to limit the power an amp puts out by watching your volume and/or setting the gain with a multimeter, why get the bigger amp unless you plan on upgrading the subs at a later date?
