I'm not a big fan of 'em.  They're cheap, and they can't produce what sony says they can.

But if cheap is what your after, go for it.

Sony's subwoofers might not be good...never had any experience with them. I can tell you that for component speakers they are great! You can't find better sounding speakers for the price. Not everything expensive is great...although the real good stuff usually tends to be!!

It depends what your looking for out of your subs.  My cousin has a pair of 12 inch Sonys and he loves them.  They do what he wants.  I personally don't like them.  Listen to them and draw your own conclusions.

That's my opinion. Take it, leave it, or correct me.

There a good starter brand, or beater sub. But definately not a brand you will look for when you want a good quality sound with a hard impact.  I "rent" them from walmart now and then just to smoke em and return them, kinda fun.  posted_image

In my opinion its all about expectations. If you know what you are expecting and the equipment meets those desires than its a good product for you. If you have higher expectations than the product delievers than its a problem with either you setting the bar too high or the equipment not living up to what it portrays. Both cases happen far to often in car audio.
