Why do amps go into protect mode. The reason I ask is I installed a 4ch., 2ch., crossover, and deck into a 2003 Buick Rendezvous. With the car running the 4ch. will go into protect mode. Now the remote wire is reading 13.4v when it's running which should be enough to keep it on. What else should I be looking for to solve this problem.

Here is the wierd thing. It doesn't go into protect and stay in protect. It wil go in and out really rapidly as if a cd were skipping.

You may have a speaker or speaker wire grounding out, same with a rca cable being clinched somewhere.
