I am looking to add a sub woofer to my existing sound system in my 997. I have an alpine v12 MRV F300 power amp (from a 5 series I also had a bigger sub in) and was thinking of buying two JL Audio JL6W0-4 subs top place on the back parcel shelf in a custom made box. My problem is that I don't know how to wire them to the car's existing sound harness - can anyone help? Cheers.

Don't type in bold print.

To hook up the amp, connect a line output converter to the rear speaker wires.  Run RCA cables from there to your amp.  If you can find the factory amp turn on, you can run a jumper from there to your amp, otherwise just use an accessory wire.  Other than that, it's just power, ground, and speaker wires.  Do a search in here on how to set your gain if you're not sure how.

What year of car is this, I might be able to give you exact wire colors for your set up.
