About to open pandora's box hereposted_image.  But I'm just curious of everyone's opinion of xm as opposed to sirius.  I've always felt sirius had some problems with their satellites and thus reception but I think they recently fixed all that--I could be wrong though?

I must admit I've always been an alpine and pioneer fan and thus maybe my own opinion is swayed somewhat by the fact that both those are xm only, but I was just interested in hearing what other people thought?

Obviously the 100% commercial free would appeal to lots of folks but it's 4 more bucks per month.  What do yall think?  Or better yet, what do you have in your own cars?

The last I had heard from both of the companies was that sirius was in serious financial instability.  They were considering filing a chapter 11 just to keep from loosing out on the business.  Also, there were talks into XM actually purchasing sirius stocks and taking over their assets, but who knows with the technology sector these days anyway.  Hope that helped.

I dont know anything about the company backgrounds but I have had Sirius for two days and I cant get enough of it.  It is really nice not to hear all of those stupid commercials!  The sound quality is great!     Brian

I don't know about Sirius money problems, but I have a few friends with XM and a few friends with Sirius.  Both are good, but I have seen that XM seems to have a better selection and better reception nationwide.  Also, I think more receivers offer XM ready than Sirius ready setups.
