Hi, I have a ALPINE MRV-1000 2/1 channel amp. and a POWER ACOUSTIK FUBR-12. I have generally only done car security systems and general speaker installations. I was wondering what would be the basic components i would need to install, any amp kit will do? also how will I wire the thing up?
I know i'll have a heavy gauge hooked up from the batt with fuse. then rca wires from the head unit. (06 Xb base, does it have rca audio out option? ) and then a control wire from the hu to the amp, for powering on.

thanks :)

You'll need to tap into the speaker wires, and connect a line output converter.  Then you can run RCA's from that to your amp.  Tap either fronts or rears- if you have a factory sub (I don't think you do) you'll tap into those wires.

The stock HU doesn't have any rca outputs on the 06 model?

no rca's on the factory radio. BTW, why don't you look into a new radio? I find it funny that the majority of Scion owners (I own a 2005 xB) will put a full system in and not switch out the factory radio. that was the first thing I did.

I know that, Jessie, that's why you'd use the line out converter- it uses speaker level signals and converts them into rca outputs.
