so yeah, i my stereo got stolen. i used to have a concept cd 2410 powering 2 10s at 4 ohms, using 4 gauge power and ground cables, now for insurance i got the cd1210 and 2 dual 4 ohm 10's clarion pro audio....im currently running them at 1 ohm, i know this amp can eat these subs but i dont really care, i figured ill keep my hands away from the gain and see what will happen. well i hooked everything up using the same 4 gauge power/ground and everything will run fine for maybe 10 minutes then it gets all out of phase and wack and it shuts off.its not hot at all and the protection light does not come on. if i leave the car overnight it will do the same thing in the morning. so now do i need to ugrade cable size to run at 1 ohm??????? ive checked all connections etc.maybe tomorrow i will pull the subs out and run them at 4  ohms and see if it shuts off

thanks for any replies

Meter each coil to ensure that one coil is not fried. Ensure that all coils are inphase second to that.

hook them up at 4 ohms and see if it does the same thing, if it does i dont think it is the subs i think that you just might have a bad amp
