I have talked to a few local installers here who have a long history in mobile electronics. They all have said to stay away from Optima batteries because they are always draining down. They have advised me to go with a Kinetik power cell. Is this the right move?? Does anyone know about these or seen these in action? I was planning on getting a high output alternator from Ohio Generator to accompany the Kinetik.

I too recommend that you use a battery different than Optima. I would point you towards the Exide Orbital battery.

I am unsure of which kinetik battery i should get. I am thinking of running 2 Alpine Type X 12" Subwoofers and 2 Alpine MRD-600's. Also am running two MRP-F250's for the tweets and mids. By the way, i was going to go with 2 13"JLW6DVC's with 2 500/1 JL monoblocks but every installer i talk to is saying the alpine system would sound alot better (even coming from Ovation-who is notorious for selling only JL audio). Is this the right advice?? Or is there another set up i should look at. The only thing i am certain of is that i have polk momo's 6.5 components and Polk Momo 6x9's and the Pioneer 9600 CD player. I got this all for $400 brand new still in box, which is the only reason why i went with them. I've also never read a bad review on polk momo components, but maybe im looking in the wrong area. Anyway back to my main question, waht size kinetik battery should be sufficient?

The battery size depends on how long you want to play your system with the car off. Bigger battery = longer time. As for the system... I'd have to disagree. The 12w6v2 is a very, very nice subwoofer. I think it is a much better subwoofer than the Type X. The Type X is overrated in my opinion. You should take a listen though before you decide to invest so much money. Your ears won't lie.
------------- That's my opinion. Take it, leave it, or correct me.

I agree with arrow12...ive heard both the w3v2's and type-r's (almost equal in class) and i am not impressed with alpine...the sub is HUGE compared to the w3v2 but i think its not worth it...but the best thing is to listen ot each...
