I have a 2001 Chevy Silverado Ext cab. I recently justi installed an irragi alternator. Pretty easy stuff..done it 100s of times. Started the truck up and the alternator was pushin a strong 14.8 volts. I turned the truck off and started it back up and no charge from the alternator. All fuses were checked and are good. I can install the old alternator and it works perfectly. All charging leads are upgraded and all grounds. Any ideas?

Shot in the dark: some GM alternators have integrated voltage regulators.  Does you truck?  If so, does the aftermarket alt include one?
