I'm installing a Pioneer DEH-P4600 in my '99 Disco. I can't figure out the wiring. The unit gets power, but only in short bursts. When I turn it on, the display flashes every 3-4 seconds, but I can't get any sound. I don't know what's wrong.

Disconnect all of the speaker wires to ensure that they are not dead shorting. Then see if the unit still turns on and off.
