I bought a cheap cd player just to throw in my girlfriend's 98 Hyundai Elantra so she can listen to something more than the 1 decent radio station we have. So I bought the wire harness to make it a clean and more professional radio install. I have never used one before because I have always had older cars that are before factory harnesses. Anyway the harness has a "illumination wire" and a "positive dimmer" wire but the radio does not. I know what these wires are for, my question is what do you do with them if your radio doesn't have this connection? I am guessing i can just not use the dimmer wire and insulate it off, but I have read that if you don't hook up the illumination wire that the dash lights don't work anymore.

Also the harness has the blue antenna wire as does the radio. the car doesn't have an electric antenna and in the past i have never had the blue wire on the car wiring, i just hook the blue from the radio up to an amp. I am guessing i just connect the radio blue to the harness blue but i am not sure if this is just if you car had an electric antenna option. just don't to cause any issues.

thanks in adance for any replies.

Just tape the wires off. You will still have dash lights. Tape the blue wires off also. All will be fine.
