Just to stick to the honda civic theme, i've got a 98 civic sedan and have recently put in an amp. I've connected my speaker wires (self-installed speakers) to the passenger door by threading them through the bottome of the door, but this set up gets interfered by the power cable to the amp which runs along the ground next to the door.

i can see that the wires for the original speakers run through a grommet between the door and the car body, but i cant reach the original wires or the end of the grommet. if i could put the wires through the grommet, then there wouldnt be any interference from the power cable.

anyone else had this problem before? i can't think of a way to put my wires through without interference.

It sounds like you're running a power cable and speaker wires through the door jamb on your car- bad idea.  You should never do that.  If you can't figure out how to run your wires you need to pay someone else to do it right to prevent any fire hazards.

the easiest way to tap into your factory wires, would be to run the wires from your amp, to the wires behind your deck that already go into the doors
