Sorry if this is the wrong forum for this post but since it happened during a stereo install I thought it belonged here.

I installed a new stereo, amps, speakers and sub in my '02 Tacoma this weekend. The system sounds great but to my horror I discovered that the drivers-side window switch no longer works. I've connected and reconnected the harness to the doorpanel several times (the window lock button in off.) All 3 other windows work when you use their own switches at the respective door. Just not on the Drivers side. Both the power mirros (seperate harness/connector)and the door locks (same harness/connector) work fine.

I think I've checked just about every fuse in the truck but couldn't find any bad ones (would the other windows work if there was a blow fuse?)

What else can I test before I replace the switch itself?

Did you remove the driver's door panel to mount speakers? If you did, I would recommend you remove it again and make sure that nothing came unplugged. Coinicidence doesn't happen as often as most installers would like. If it worked before you worked on the truck and it doesn't now, you probably caused the problem. Retrace all the work you did on the driver's side door and you should find the problem. If the other windows work, the problem should be contained within the driver's door and not a fuse problem.

Yeah, removed the panel and dynamatted the entire door. Then snaked new speaker wires through the boot in the kickpanel. I'll have to go and make sure that I didn't break anything when I did that.

Thanks

Crisis over.

One of the pins in the molex connectors was bent.

It's amazing how much easier things are when you step away for a little while.
