can this be done?  im looking to install an xm system in my ladies 2002 sunfire.  im looking to mount the reciever (not to be confused with the head unit now..lol) under the back deck in between the bac speakers.  and have the antenna perched on the trunk. in between the rear wing, and the trunk seam, right near the window.  any special tools i may need for this?  that is if it can be done.

thanks

jim

i would say no. they are very small gauge wires and being that its a digital singal that any extra restiance like going threw conectors would screw it up. just a thought

You do not want to cut any DSR antenna wires. also stay away from crimping them too.

If it's not too late, I'd try to mount the antenna itself on the back portion of your roof, run the wires down the seam of the window (under the rubber gaskit) and then into your trunk to your receiver. Try to string your antenna wires out to use up the slack. I was told that the whole wire is actually part of the antenna and helps draw in the signal....not just the actual antenna mounted on your cars body.

Good Luck!
