Situation:  06 Caddy STS w/ DVD,  5.1, DTS & Navigation already on the vehicle from factory. All we did was to add a JL Audio 500/1 & dual 13" w1 woofers to existing Bose System.

Problem:  Everything is fine on every source other than 5.1 & DTS. I have changed the imput to the amp and still no output. Is the processor in the Bose doing something to cancel any of the needed fqs for the surround sound. If you use the matrix type is ok, on cd is great, on center point is excellent but when the dvd is set to 5.1 or DTS nada??? WTF!

             thanks  mark

How did you integrate into the Bose system. If it is a 5.1 system, you MUST integrate into the sub portion (the .1) or the sub will have no usable frequencies to work from.

Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.

Thats exactly what I was thinking. Just going to a speaker wont work, its gotta be from the sub or the factory crossovers are gonna give you nada to work with. Bastard Bose systems:)

Getting into the Bose system is not too difficult. We tapped into the rear full range speakers in the rear package tray with an LOC. The problem is that when the customer sticks in a true 5.1 dvd or DTS video we get absolutely nothing from the sub. I figure that there must be a summed center channel or some kind of strange processing that i am not aware of. Other than that the system sounds great.
