I am installing a amp in a 1999 ford taurus and I have NO IDEA what wire I would have to splice into to turn on the amo when the car is turned on.  He is keeping the factory head unit so I have to cut into the factory wiring.  If someone can PLEASE tell me what color that wire would be and where it is located, it would be very helpful.  i did some research online and I saw something about a wire in the trunk, however I thought I would have to go from behind the radio.  Anyways, thanks for the info!

Do you have a test light, or better yet a meter?

Use a metra hanress to see what color the wire is.

I am going to be using the factory head unit, so I dont need a wiring harness.  I do not have a meter or a test light.  Some one on another forum said it just wrap it around a fuse in the fuse panel and put it back in the fuse panel.  However, I would like more of a professional look than that.  So knowing the wire on this is key for me.

if you want to do it the right way then your gonna have to get a  multimeter, or you could just spend a couple bucks and get a cheap test light.

Or the yellow/black wire is your Accessory, if you want to pull it off of that.
