I am not sure what the technical name is for this product, but is similar to the padding under the carpet of most cars. I used to order it from select products, but I am sure it is available elswhere. Anyway it is a padding about 1" thick. I wouldcut strips of it, and place them on either side of the wire, and it helps disquise the usual lump under the carpet associated with heavy gauge wires. If you're working under the hood careful planning goes a long way!

Ok, I have never done this for the amp power cable on any of my daily drivers, but on my '66 Nova I relocated the battery to the trunk and I just ran the cable under the vehicle. The thing is that this car isn't driven in any inclimate weather and is by no means a daily driver, also the cable is for the most part out of harms way. Is this something that most of you frown upon or do other people do this?

It is alright to do this provided that you have properly secured the cable (don't want it to chaff) and protected it (don't want it to snag). It also is going to need a fuse at both ends of this cable to protect the vehicle from a fire incase the power wire does somehow short out. ------------- Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.

Eather i get some padding to put around it. Or you can run it underneath your car(This option isn't really smart unless it done carefully, and the wire prepared for the abuse its going to take..
