Just a couple quick questions I need some other opinions on to check myself. I'm hardwiring a harness for a Kenwood KDC-MPV619 in a Sunfire.

Basically the only questions I have are on the illumination wires and antanna wire and remote turn on.

From the GM side of the harness, I have a Orange (marked dimmer) and an Oragne/white(marked Illumination). On the Kenwood side I have an ORANGE / white. What one does the Kenwoods ORANGE / white go to?

Next, with the Antanna wire...from the GM side of the harness I have a blue/white wire marked (Amp Turn on) and on the Kenwood side I have a blue/white and a solid blue...which one goes to the GM sides Blue/white and which one is for the remote turn on for an external amp?

Also does anyone know of any gromits on the firewall that I could sneak some 8 gauge through to the battery?

Usually the wires are color coded, so ORANGE / white should probably go to ORANGE / white, however if I was you I would double check with the installation manual of the Kenwood what that ORANGE / White wire is. The Blue white on the kenwood is for AMP turn on whether it;s factory or aftermarket. The solid Blue on Kenwood is for Antenna Up so unless you have a power antenna you don't need to hook it up.

Like everyone told me, don't bother hooking up the dimmer or illumination wires. If you can figure out which wire goes to which wire then great but if not, it's not really a big deal.

No need to worry about it anymore. I had everything correct. The install turned out great too. 2hours 45 mins. for a headunit, amp and sub in a 2000 Sunfire. :-)
