customer has a Sony head unit(didn't get the modl #), and a JVC 12 pack CD changer, compadable? same protocal? or not. I only have the 5 pin imbiblical cord from the head unit to the changer. I hooked it up but the Sony head unit will not switch to CD functions will not switch period stays on AM/FM mode. any cheep adapters or not worth it/cant be done? the JVC does have a shorting plug next to the 5 pin input- didn't get around to so what this function is yet, no paper work with the stuff , as usual.

no they are not compatible with each other.  even if the connectors are the same and they will plug in to each other, they each use different protocols and cannot be used together.
