in a convertible, do you want the subs facing forward or rearward?  i realize that the sound dynamics are completely different, so i was just wondering.  i have two tens in my sedan right now facing rearward - i don't know if moving them to my small convertible (cabrio) would change that at all?

If you can design the sub enclosure so that it fits either toward the back or toward the front, and also fits firing toward the side...and with a rear bottom angle that allows it to be tilted upward....

...then you've covered all bases and can experiment with placement after the subs are installed.

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

thanks, but what should i do if the subs are already in a box? i already have the system, just moving it from one car to another. the box is a traditional rectangle, with both subs on the same side. should i fire the subs forward or rearward?

is there a general rule-of-thumb for convertibles?
