The brilliant previous owner of my 95 wrangler decided that when he sold it to took out his CD player, but rather than worry with pushing the little clip and cleanly taking it out it would be much more fun to cut each and every wire, behind the harness hookup thereby freeing his CD player and providing me with an enormous headache. I have looked at the wiring diagram on this site for a 95 wrangler. it shows the switched hot to be - PURPLE / white. They only problem is I dont have a wire that is PURPLE / white. I have a solid purple, but no PURPLE / white. Also, I am installing an Alpine 9815 and have no idea which wire goes to which. any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks
Test your wires with a meter set to dc voltage on a scale that can easily read 12 volts. Touch the negative probe to a ground, like the rim of the cigarette lighter, and the positive probe to your suspect wire. If you can't seem to find the constant and/or accessory lead, check all your fuses- if more than one wire was cut at once, it could have blown a fuse or two.
Also, check for these colors:
