Im putting in my pioneer 5x7/6x9's in my door, and when they are mounted, the magnet is touching metal. Is this ok for the speaker? i never mounted it yet, i just wanted to make sure it wouldnt ruin the speaker seeing how they are expensive. Let me know, thanks

No, that's not alright. It wouldn't ruin the speakers but there will be a metal-on-metal resonating noise that will ruin the sound. Use mounting baffles to bring the speakers forward. They are also called spacers.
------------- Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

Also, you need to make sure the windows will roll down ok and the door stopper clears as well (make sure you can close the door).

yeah, its the metal peice that guides the window down when it rolls down. I want to get some covers for the speakers because they are in an area that shoes would kick them. does infinity make covers for the speakers? thanks for the replies, im gonna go get some spacers
